Catching up!

Celebrating our 9th anniversary!

Hanging out with her baby doll!

Anderson and Henry hanging out - everything is more fun with friends even a CAbi sample show.

My little buddy at the WannaBeatles concert!

Queso is her love language! Mine too!

I love this face!!

Growing way too fast!

Hard at work catching fireflies!

She talks to her fireflies and it is so hysterical. "oh little buggie - it's okay do not fly away."

These flowers have tons of fireflies and Henry tries to smoosh them.

My loves!

Waking up Daddy on Father's Day!

Come eat your doughnuts, Daddy!

Breakfast time!

Summer has been really busy so far! Between swimming lessons, camp, playdates and catching fireflies we have been on the go. There have been some lazy mornings at home and afternoons snuggled up watching movies together. It is much easier this summer with an almost 3 year old and 5.5  year old. Love their ages right now!

It's hard to believe that our summer is already 1/3 of the way over! I am not ready for Evie to start kindergarten although she is going to love it! Her confidence has grown so much since she has become a swimmer and she makes friends at the pool every day. Kindergarten is going to be right up her alley.

Henry loves having Evie around more and asks "where my Evie go" anytime she is gone for longer than a few minutes. He is so protective of her and they are still the best of friends. Henry was running interference on Evie's doll last week at our playdate. A little boy kept grabbing it and Evie did not mind. Henry was determined that no one get his sisters baby. He kept saying, "that's the rules" to everyone. Poor Carl lives in a family of rule-followers. He is a lot more laid-back and sees life in shades of gray. Evie and Henry are like their Mama not exactly laid back.

Hope your summer is off to a terrific start! We love these hot days filled with popsicle drips, afternoons reading books and a dip in the pool. Cheers to Summer!

Weekend Wrap-Up!

We had a nice weekend! Hope you did too! Friday night was super fun with a joint birthday party for Campbell and Christian - two of our favorite boys. They chose to have their party at the zoo and it was perfect. Huge jungle gym, pizza and doughnuts - cannot beat that! Evie and Henry both wanted to sit next to the birthday boys without realizing the birthday boys were in demand. Evie did squeeze in next to Christian.

Saturday, we spent the day at the pool! Evie passed the swim test and we tried to coax Henry in the water. He's a little more leery ever since he fell in the pool - yikes! That was scary for me too! He will forget about that one day soon but we will keep getting him in the pool. It is so nice not being stuck at home for naps. Henry is quiet when tired - I can deal with quiet. We packed a lunch and enjoyed it pool side. Evie adores swimming and would stay all day if we let her. She thinks her swim bracelet is her key to every thing that she wants in life.  Carl grilled dinner and we caught some fireflies.

Sunday, Henry woke us up just in time for church. Our Rector retired recently and church is not the same. Summer is always a slow season with church attendance and a missing Rector brings the numbers even further down. We went to coffee hour but only a few people showed up - nice to have good conversations with a few people but sad to see people not building community. After lunch and grass mowing, we headed to the other pool - Evie passed the swim test at this pool too. YAY for Evie!!! We are so proud of our big girl! She had a ball sliding down the water slide,  jumping off the diving board and swimming in the designated "wrist band" area. Evie thinks she is big stuff now!

We headed over for the summer concert and it was a packed house. Henry and Evie love the concerts and eating alfresco.  It's a lot of work to get over there with food, drinks, chairs and a blanket but always worth it. Both of our kids love dancing and people watching!

That wraps up another wonderful weekend! Hope your week is off to a magnificent start.
