Traveling!

We left Kiawah at 5:30 this morning. Carl pulled into our driveway at 2:30 Central. It was a long trip, all 586 miles but our kids did great. Henry fussed a bit after breakfast and then screamed for twenty minutes before passing out. Evie entertained herself beautifully with movies and her dolls. No nap but she was perfectly content. We stopped for lunch at Cracker Barrel and then did not stop again. Pretty impressive to only stop twice with two kids! Our house is a disaster zone with stuff everywhere and our van needs a major cleaning. None of us want to be inside of a car for any extended periods of time anytime soon. I will post pictures when my camera surfaces!

Week in Review

I am on the road so this will be short.

Monday: I had a meeting so the kids went with me. We learned how to make Stromboli too. Yummy! Henry devoured it. Both kids took super long naps which gave me the chance to catch up on some things around the house.

Tuesday: Henry had a rough night so after we dropped Evie off at school we went to the doctor. He's growing molars and has a bronchial infection. I made dinner for a friend. Baked ziti makes so much that it was enough for two families plus a small one for us. Pinterest 5 Ingredient M&M bars for dessert. Delicious! I took Evie to a birthday party at Monkey Joe's. Henry had a ball but it was little much for us on a school day. I was feeling pretty stressed by the end of it. After I put the kids to bed, I met Kristin for a pedicure. Perfect way to end a wild day!

Wednesday: We stayed home and did a few things around the house. Evie helped me make some lemon cookies for a new Mama. Yummy! I am loving Pinterest. It's my online record of recipes. We played with our boys and then ate our ziti for dinner.

Thursday: Evie went to school for her last day. Our day got off to a rocky start with all three of us crying. It got a lot better! I ran a few errands then met Courtney at Puffy Muffin for lunch. Then, we headed to TJ Maxx for sunglasses.I picked up from school a little early and took her out for ice-cream to celebrate her last day of school. We played outside with our boys. I tried to pack some last night but seem to work better under pressure. Carl and I went to bed too late.

Friday: Both kids slept late! I frantically packed for our trip. We are on the way to Atlanta for our niece's First Communion. It feels like we were just at Mary's Baptism. Evie is over the moon excited about seeing her cousins. It's going to be a special night.

School's out for Summer!

First Day of School - August 26, 2011

Last Day of School - May 10, 2012
Evie had her last day of school today! It seems like school just started but it's May. Schools gets out early in Tennessee. Evie sure has changed since the beginning of the school year. She's a whole new person. Looking back, she was such a baby and now she is a big girl!

Miss Molly and Evie

Miss Jen and Evie
She proudly took her teachers little gifts this morning. Carl and I could not have asked for better teachers for Evie. One teacher was a little more firm and the other was more nurturing which was the perfect balance for Evie. We are amazed at all that Evie has learned this year.

I decided to capture some of Evie's thoughts on this special day with a little interview.

What was your favorite part about school?

Singing. I like singing - Twinkle Twinkle and Knickerbocker are my favorite. Playing in the sandbox making castles is fun too.

Who are your best friends?

Vivi, Molly and Caroline because they big girls like me. They my friends!

Tell me about lunchtime.

We eat. I eat turkey and fruit. Sometime we have a picnic. Some people bring bags of food but I bring a box. Maybe you give me bags next year, Mama.

Did you take a nap at school?

Not now, I did last year but I take my shoes off now.

Tell me about your teachers.

Ms. Molly and Ms. Jen. They eat their lunch when we take our sleep.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Ummm . . . a ballerina

Anything else?

After school, we go to our mommies because they miss us. They pick us up and we go home.

NOTES: Mommy will miss school so much but I am looking forward to having more time to see our friends and hang out at home.
