We had a super low-key weekend. It was our first weekend without guests since Henry was born so it was nice to just hang out together. We love guests too but it is always wonderful to hang out with my sweet family with no agenda.

Saturday morning started off on the right foot with Evie sleeping until 7:30 and Henry slept until 8:45. He is such an easy baby now that I figured him out. We took off for the Farmer's Market. You would have thought we were going to Disney World . . . Evie was just so excited. She loves eating cinnamon doughnuts and drinking basil lemonade while checking out the scenery. There are lots of dogs, babies and people for her to see.

We came home and enjoyed a delicious dairy-free lunch from a nice lady at our church. I am so impressed that everyone is willing to cook dairy-free for me and that it is so tasty. She prepared Dijon chicken, roasted veggies, wheat rolls and my favorite pies from the farmer's market. Those pies were seriously unbelievable! My favorite was the chocolate banana peanut butter pie. If you are local, these pies are sold at the Woodbine Farmer's Market. I am not even sure where that it is but I will be learning real quick.

Evie and I ran some errands after her nap. We went to Whole Foods to get some dairy-free items for me and some mango for Evie. She loves those "mangos" so much and eats them up fast. Then, we stopped in to get her a haircut. She did fantastic and sat on a booster this time. Lollipops really help make it much more fun.

Henry sleeps so much so it still feels like we have just one child most of the time. We all headed outside for a bit. Mary brought us takeout from our favorite Thai place for dinner. YUMMY! We are so grateful and appreciative for all of these magnificent dinners.

We did nothing today! Evie got in lots of playtime and Carl made delicious okra soup. I took a nap which helps me feel so much better. Henry only wakes up once a night but it's so hard to settle back to sleep after I feed him.

Story Time and Outside Fun!

I think we are starting to get in the swing of things. We ran a few errands this morning and then went to story time at the toy store. Evie was so happy to do something fun and Henry slept through it. We all took great naps and then went outside for a bit. We are so happy it's the weekend and that Daddy is home which means two extra hands on deck! Happy Friday to everyone.

We had a good day and Henry is doing better! I am just exhausted from taking care of two kids all day. We did venture out to Chick fil A for lunch. I was pretty impressed with myself for getting us all there and back. It's the small things these days!

That's Perfect!

Evie and I had such a fun day together. She was in the best mood. Poor Henry has not been feeling well the past two days, I introduced a little dairy back into my diet via about a dozen cookies. Apparently, even dairy that has been baked is too much for his right now. It's ironic that I am experiencing this because I never really "got" it when parents worried about their child's sensitivities or allergies to food. Well, I get it now after changing more diapers than I care to count and trust me it's not worth 200 chocolate chip cookies to experience this on a daily basis. Henry has been fussy and not slept more than an hour at a stretch all day. Carl thinks it may also be the 6 week growth spurt. Let's hope so because I really do love my sweets. It looks like a trip to Whole Foods and the Vegan bakery is in my future though.

Evie and I spread out on the kitchen floor and painted this morning. I just knew that lots of paint would end up on the floor and had prepared myself for that. Evie surprised me though and kept the paint on the paper. She kept telling me how perfect everything was all day. Such a funny girl!

Henry was crying and I said, "It's okay, honey." Evie looked at me and said, "that not Honey - that Henry, Mommy." She must really think that I have gone off the deep end. Evie had to remind me to "guckle" her this morning. She climbs in her own seat while I get Henry in his seat. I hopped in the van to back out of the driveway and she asked me to "guckle" her.

We got home from picking up Henry's canvas and Evie immediately began working on her dinner party preparations. She served dinner to her six favorite babies in the dining room. I love seeing the things she comes up with and it certainly keeps me busy cleaning up after her all day.

Everyone took naps until the dinosaurs came into Evie's room. Those pink dinosaurs are really nice dinosaurs because they waited for 2.5 hours before disturbing our sleeping princess.  It's still fairly nice weather so we went outside for a bit until Evie had a meltdown that her boys were not outside. We were all happy to see Carl when he came home. Evie was in desperate need of a bath and then we doused her room in dinosaur spray again. She called me back up the there for one more spray. Oh dear, let's hope she moves on to something new soon.

Painting the house! They came up with this idea on their own and it entertained them beautifully.



Markers provide lots of fun and the mess stays outside! Evie loves her "BIG" paper as she calls it.

 Evie was thrilled to hear that her boys were coming over this morning to play. She cooperated quite well with our morning routine which made it so much easier for me. Mornings are our craziest times and usually involve at least one person crying or screaming. Some days it is all three of us. Evie told me that she was so excited her boys were coming. They had a great time playing outside and got along quite well for the most part. It was so nice sitting outside enjoying the gorgeous day with our glass bottled coke. Evie gave both boys a hug and a kiss goodbye! I am looking forward to lots more fun days with our boys and their Mommy. They were not even out of the driveway and Evie was asking if they could come back tomorrow! 

Picnic at the Park!

We ventured out to the park this morning for some playtime and a picnic with our friends, The Porters. It was a bit of an adventure getting out of the house with two kids plus packing lunch. We made it though and had so much fun! Kristin was sweet enough to meet us at a park close to our house to help me out.  Our kids played a bit and then we had lunch. Evie was worn out and I was too. It's still challenging for me to keep up with two kids and Henry is not even mobile yet. It's good for me to see other people balance two kids and trust me that I am taking careful notes. I have a feeling it's going to get harder to take two kids out as Henry gets bigger and wants to explore his surroundings.

It has been a gorgeous day! Evie and I played outside after nap time soaking up the fabulous weather. Too bad it cannot be like this all year. Evie had fun skipping up and down the driveway with me, covering her little car with painters tape and washing her animals. It was time to come in once Evie got a little too familiar with the water hose.

A family from church brought us a delicious dairy free dinner! They brought shrimp and grits which is one of our favorites! Plus, some yummy dessert. What a blessing these meals are as we adjust to life with two kids.

Sunday

We had a lazy day at home but it was so nice to stay put. Carl and Evie let me sleep late while they went to get biscuits for everyone for breakfast. We all hung out this morning before Ben left. Evie still thinks Nana is at the airport but Ben is already home. It's interesting to see how her brain is working. We sure miss Ben. It was fun having him here and we are go glad he got to meet Henry. Ben installed two new faucets for us in our bathrooms which look so much better! He also fixed two doors that needed to be sanded down a bit.

Henry slept while we all went outside to help Carl put together his sweeper for the lawn mower. Evie was quite the helper! She loves any type of project and this was right up her ally. Carl may have not enjoyed her help quite so much because it was so complicated. They figured it out and it made the lawn look fantastic.

Everyone took naps while Carl mowed and then Evie and I went to Publix. I love having my Evie time on the weekends and it just seems so easy to have just her. She has really grown up since Henry has been born and I can see her maturing before my eyes. Of course, we still have lots of tantrums but that is part of being a toddler.

We hung out with The C's late this afternoon enjoying the gorgeous weather! It has been the most beautiful day. I love this kind of weather. Evie had a blast with her boys. She told me on our Publix trip that she was going to marry her boys. So sweet! Evie went to bed and we enjoyed a nice healthy dinner of salmon and salad. I needed something nutritious after my sugar binge this afternoon.
