Weekend Wrap-up: Pony Rides, Sip and See, Date Night

It's been a busy, fun weekend! Gorgeous weather makes everyone happy especially Mama. It's been a long, cold winter.

Saturday: We took the kids to a fabulous birthday party. They had pony rides, delicious BBQ and cake. Such a great time! Carl met a few new friends and had a chance to see how difficult it is to wrangle two kids at a birthday party. Henry fell asleep before we left the neighborhood and then protested nap time at home. I left for a bit to attend a Sip and See for a friend. It was so nice and a great chance to celebrate a new baby girl. Nothing better than a sweet newborn! It was a gorgeous day and we played outside all afternoon. Allison came to keep the kiddos while we went out for a bit. It was so good for us to get out of the house by ourselves. We went to Burger Up for dinner. Burgers and a brownie sundae were the perfect combination.

Sunday: Henry and Carl are having some allergy issues so they stayed home while Evie went with me this morning. We ran a few errands including a trip to the toy store for a Cabbage Patch Kid. Let's just say this was one of the most exciting days of Evie's life. Evie spent some time trying to decide which doll would be the perfect one. She was such a proud Mama once she found the one. Evie was beyond thrilled to have her own "patch" kid and was over the moon carrying her through the store. Evie is not keen on naming her babies different and unique names. Every single baby in our house is Leila so we welcomed another Leila into our home with open arms. Leila has enjoyed her first day with us and has already stolen our hearts. Evie put her in the stroller for a walk around the block, pushed her on the swing and Henry even fed her an M&M. I think Leila is going to like it here! It was another beautiful day perfect for hanging outside except it makes Henry's nose run so much. We loved feeling the sunshine and catching up with everyone. Evie was so thrilled because she played with her boys two times. Carl grilled out for dinner and then we made smores' for dessert. Evie ate an entire chocolate bar while we were roasting marshmallows. She loves chocolate just like her Mama. Luckily, we had another chocolate bar! Evie rode down the street on her scooter a few times and had a ball. She loves it but I am a nervous wreck and felt much better once her helmet was protecting that precious head.

What a glorious weekend! Hope y'all had a good one too.

  2. Looks like Evie filled up her chart! I'm so glad Cabbage Patch Kids are still around. I still have all of mine, but of course Avery isn't too interested in the ones she has. Our good weather is continuing into the new week so I hope yours is too.
