Weekend Recap: Parties, Pansies and Painting

It was a chilly weekend for the first weekend in October. Gorgeous in the afternoons but foggy in the mornings.

Friday: Carl arrived home early so we took a long walk and enjoyed some playtime at the park. It was a warm October day! Evie and I had fun sponge painting in the kitchen on the long paper. It is so encouraging to see her attention span expanding each day.

S
aturday: We went to the YMCA and dropped off the kids. It was our first time working out together since becoming parents. Children really do change everything. Carl took Evie to a birthday party at Glow Galaxy while I stayed with Henry. He is starting to work really hard at making his point clear complete with head banging and biting his sister. Evie went with me on a girls trip. We ran a few errands, visited the pet store and picked up smoothies. I love one on one time with kids. It is so special! We came home to get the boys and then headed to Mellow Mushroom for dinner. Evie and Henry are not big pizza eaters but they devoured some pretzels. It was a nice dinner out! I went to bed right after the kids. Carl stayed up to watch football.

Sunday: We went to early church. Evie stayed with us and thought it was great fun to test out her tap dancing on the wood floors. After church, we went to Home Depot to purchase some pansies for our planters. Evie had fun selecting the perfect colors of purple, lilac and yellow. Carl planted the pansies with the kids while I snapped a few pictures. I headed out for a bit while Carl took care of the kids. He loves hanging out with the kids and it gives me a break to gear up for the week. We had a wonderful weekend. Hope you did too!

  1. Henry has gotten SO big! He looks like a little boy now instead of a baby! He's precious.
