Happy New Year!

2012 is off to a great start! Carl and I are not really fans of New Years. It seems so anti-climactic after Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We went out for lunch yesterday with Henry and Evie. That was fun and more than enough adventure for me. Henry is suddenly interested in everything that goes in our mouth and wants to try it in his own mouth.  That makes meal times a little more of a juggling act. He is enjoying Baby Mum Mum's and crackers along with baby food so far. Carl thinks he'd eat a cheeseburger if we gave him one. Two teeth as sharp as those might just devour a cheeseburger.

We had a lazy afternoon around the house. Carl took both the kids jogging which gave me thirty minutes by myself in the house. I organized a closet while they were gone.

Evie loves to click glasses and do "cheers" so we indulged her with some sparkling apple juice in our fancy champagne glasses from the Andre's. Evie thought this was so much fun! She enjoyed some jelly beans for dessert using her new chopsticks.

Then we put the kids to bed and prepared dinner for ourselves. Carl pan seared filet's and I made the sides: lemon-thyme green beans, salad, and baked potatoes.  It was delicious! Dessert was a warm chocolate chip cookie with some lactose-free ice-cream. Neither of us made it even close to midnight!

Henry is sleeping until 8 most days which is so nice especially when Evie does it too or Carl is home to take care of Evie. Evie helped Carl make waffles and bacon for breakfast. We stayed home all day just relaxing and not doing anything.

Carl and I both prepared our New Year's dinner of pork tenderloin, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, Hoppin' John and cornbread. We both thought it was delicious but Evie was not the least bit impressed. She took one look at her plate and started pointing out all the things that she does not like. Everything was new on her plate so it did not go over too well so she had cheese and crackers.

Best wishes for 2012! Happy New Year!
