Scavenger Hunt . . . just follow the goldfish

Carl and I have been searching high and low for various items lately. Evie finds interest in the most mundane items such as our toothbrushes, tops to our moisturizer, bag clips and shoes. She takes them off to her own secret hiding places and then we find them when least expected. It's pretty funny except when you have to spend five minutes looking for something which happens more often than not lately. I am still not sure why we even buy her toys since our stuff is way more special to her! We have noticed that there is sometimes a trail of goldfish leading us to our missing items.

Evie slept until 8 this morning which was such a wonderful surprise. Not sure how to make that happen again but am hoping for another late morning. We went to story time at the library this morning. Evie made it through the songs and half of the book before she spotted the train table out of the corner of her eye. Apparently, that was more entertaining to her and about five little boys who gathered around the table making choo choo noises.

We came home to play for a bit and then it was down for nap time. After nap, we had a few errands to run. Evie racked up with two stickers, a new hair clip and a lollipop from store clerks along the way. She's starting  to really like this errand thing. We even ran into one of her little friends Alex at Coco Bon Bon's. They had some cute stuff but that's definitely the place to go when you are looking for rain gear. Evie and Alex happily modeled a few pairs of galoshes.

It's extremely hot again so I was desperately trying to come up with some cool indoor activities. We watched a few YouTube videos, crawled in the tunnel and put a diaper on the baby doll. Evie loved watching the music videos on YouTube - too bad they are so short!

I prepared Evie's dinner while she stood at the back door and yelled outside for about 10 minutes. We went outside to eat but Evie was not so interested in eating her sandwich. She tried feeding her baby a few mandarin oranges but the baby was not interested either. I let her down to play for a bit even though it was so hot.

  2. Evie looks so grown-up here! Just love her shoes. Avery had some but screamed each time we put them on. Hoping for better luck next summer!
