Summer Breeze . . . makes me feel fine

Evie and I had a busy morning preparing for our friends to come for brunch. We tried a new recipe for grits casserole and I was not that impressed. Not sure how you can go wrong with butter and cheese but it was not my favorite part of the meal.

Evie loved having so many friends over. We had 5 kids - a four year old, two around 14 months, a 7 month old and of course Evie. It was pretty wild but we had a wonderful time. Brunch is an easy meal to prepare for a group. We had quiche and scones from Whole Foods which made it super easy along with a fruit salad. Lea Anne, my sweet neighbor, brought peanut butter cup cookies. Evie devoured them! She had never had a Reese Cup and she's hooked now. It was pretty funny to see her licking the filling out of the cookie.

We missed Kristin and Jacob a lot but know that Kristin is taking care of herself and Baby A right now. Sending lots of prayers your way!

We stayed home this afternoon and had fun playing outside with the neighbor kids. It has been the most beautiful day. September is one of my favorite months. Evie just loved having four kids to play with and thought they were so great. We've been outside a few times since we saw them and she looks for them.

Carl picked up my cousin Brian to come over for dinner. It was great to see him while he was in town for a wedding. Evie loves hanging out with her cousin! We ordered pizza for dinner and just hung out at the house. It's been a nice day at home! We are so glad it's Friday!

  1. Glad you had a great day. I love this time of year, I just wish it would stay like this, but it looks like it is supposed to warm up next week.

  2. Your comment really blessed me. Where has it gone? I still want to be ME, but it just seems like a moment to come from then to now. Your Evie is beautiful. I love her name. My Eva was named for my Granny, who went to heaven but not til she met her namesake. Have a great weekend!
