Daddy's Home!

Evie had MMO this morning and she had a great time. She made a little tree and showed it to me when I picked her up. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. I am so thrilled to see her after three hours away from her and she is so happy to see me too.

   Evie fell asleep super fast for her nap. I think she is still catching up on her sleep. My friend, Kristin, is on bed rest and needs a little help so I made her some dinner during nap time. I made the Pioneer Woman Beef Enchiladas. They were so good but they took me forever to make. Every recipe has a learning curve so I will make them again soon. Hopefully in half the time!

  General Johnson has passed away. He was the lead singer in the band Chairman of the Board.  Carl and I love beach music and had a really great band at our wedding with many songs by Chairman of the Board.

Evie was intent on playing at the castle again this afternoon. Any ideas for a good substitute castle in the Nashville area? She misses her castle. Too bad it's 400 miles away. Evie was happy to see Jacob after they warmed up to each other. It was so good to see them! I cannot wait for Baby Anna to be born and it will be fun to do things with all three kiddos.

    We had a tree cut down this afternoon because it literally died over night. We really did not want to cut it down but it was close to our house and it looked really bad. Evie thought this was one of the most entertaining events of her life. She peered intently out the window checking out the scene and making sure that was not Daddy out there since he had a big truck just like her Daddy. She was very interested in the stump which will be coming out soon! Evie and I had a little photo shoot in the backyard. I love the light this time of year and have noticed that it makes a huge difference in the quality of the picture. Carl should be home shortly. We had planned to keep Evie up to see him but it seemed like a lot of trouble for only a few minutes. Not to mention that I am exhausted from taking care of her all week. Evie is sound asleep and I am not far behind her. She's a handful but she's a sweet handful!Evie will be so excited to see her Daddy in the morning.
