Books Galore!

Evie and I went to storytime at the Brentwood library this morning. I was impressed. Ms. Pat, the librarian, did an excellent job. She had little posters with clues about the songs and the bigger kids got so excited when she held one up. We sang about 10 songs and then she read a book. After the book, we had a craft. There were at least 50 people there so this is a big event and it is held multiple times each week. I was sitting between two moms. One was a Debbie Downer and one was a Pollyanna. Debbie Downer told me that Evie was too young for storytime and to save myself the stress by skipping the craft. She was NOT happy to be at storytime with her daughter. Her daughter did not seem happy either. She cried off and on the entire time. Maybe that was the mom's problem! Pollyanna told me that it is never too early to be at storytime and that I should help Evie do the craft. Her suggestion was to hang it on the fridge and remember Evie's first craft! HA! We skipped the craft but Evie enjoyed holding the glue stick. Evie sat in my lap the whole storytime and looked at all the other kids. Ms. Pat came to meet Evie. They had a train table and educational toys. She crawled through a tunnel to get out of the Children's Area. She had a great time! We will go back next week. I think that we will love living so close to the library.

Evie was so exhausted from her morning that she slept for over THREE hours! I was able to get so much done. Then we went to Gymboree for Open Gym. Evie had fun playing with the big kids and there was a baby about her size. She was born on Valentine's. I told the mom that I was hoping Evie would be a holiday baby like her parents. Evie got real close to MLK's birthday but Valentines - that's a really sweet birthday.

I have made a lot of progress this evening but still have lots to do. My closet is totally organized now. I wonder how long I can keep it that way. Organizing is really fun to me! When I was a kid, I would "clean" my room by taking everything out and putting it all away more neatly. I am sure this drove my parents crazy since it sometimes took me a few days to put it away. One time, I was so organized that I put a potato in a drawer as a science experiment to grow those little white things. We started noticing an unpleasant smell coming from my room. Imagine my surprise to find a rotten potato in my drawer!
