Evie and I were very lonesome at home this morning after everyone left. It's supposed to be super hot so we decided to go run a few errands while it was still relatively cool. We checked out Trees and Trends, Once Upon a Child and Aldi in Franklin. I liked all three and was pretty amazed at the low prices at Aldi. Shopping there made me realize how brand conscious I am about food. Although, I do purchase a lot of store brand food, it's still a brand such as Publix or Harris Teeter. We selected some blueberry muffins and some bread to try first before committing to a big shopping trip.
We headed to Nashville to check out Trader Joe's. I used to frequent TJ's when we lived in Charlotte and really enjoy a variety of their products. It was interesting to see that many of the items that are branded Trader Joe's were also sold at Aldi since they are owned by the same company. Those maple leaf cookies with the frosting are super popular at TJ's and they sell them at Aldi's for a lot cheaper. Got me thinking, anyway! I am always looking for ways to cut our grocery budget since it's our biggest expense after the mortgage. Aldi might be the answer.
Evie fell asleep on the way to Trader Joe's and kept sleeping while I parked in the lot chatting with Maura. She usually wakes right up when the car stops so she must have been exhausted! Evie ate two rolls when we got home. Not sure where the sudden interest in rolls came from but it's a pretty healthy food.
I had a little bit of trouble getting her to nap since she had napped a little in the car but she finally fell asleep after talking to herself for a bit. I've been catching up on laundry, mopping the floor and doing some paperwork. Weekends are my time off from my housework so Mondays are always pretty busy.
I made some apple blue cheese dip to take to Christina's. She's having some girls over to watch The Bachelorette. I am looking forward to a fun evening with friends! Hope your week is off to a great start.
