Evie and I slept until 7. She went down for a morning nap and slept for 1.5 hours. I guess she is still exhausted from traveling and then being sick. We went grocery shopping after her nap and then took a walk around the neighborhood. Not sure why I chose to walk in the worst heat of the day. Evie ate some lunch and went back to sleep. It seems like all she ever does is sleep.
I made some cranberry pinwheels during her nap. Lindsay gave me the recipe so I knew they'd be tasty. Combine one block of cream cheese with a little garlic salt. Spread on a tortilla and then sprinkle with green onions and cranberries. Roll up in some saran wrap and then place in fridge for a few hours. Cut into bite size pieces. They were delicious!
Evie woke up and we straightened the house a little. Jacob and Kristin came over for a little pool time. Not sure either child actually stepped into the pool. The mostly snacked and shared their shoes. Pinwheels went over well so I will defnitely make those again. Evie was not in the best mood during our playdate. Carl came home early from Gatlinburg which thrilled Evie's little heart. She was happy to see her Daddy! I think that may have attributed to Evie's tears during the play date. She was wondering why her Daddy disappeared. He came outside and she perked up for a bit. Jacob left and Evie decided to wade in the pool a little. We took a family walk and it was much nicer in the late afternoon after the sun's heat had faded.
Evie goes back to the doctor tomorrow to get her ears checked. Notice that her bump has faded a lot, the light emphasized the bruise yesterday. It really does not look that bad in person. Evie is so lucky to have so many people that love her and care about her.
