Evie is 51

Carl thinks that it is hysterical to tell me that Evie is 51. Let's be specific, Evie is 51 weeks old or 358 days old. He used to tell the little old ladies at church that Evie was 70 and casually add that he that was referring to her age in days. So funny!

We finally got out of the house today! It was so nice to get out for a little bit. Scariest part of the trip: getting out of our driveway. After that, it was smooth sailing. We went to Pier 1 and Target. Evie is starting to get a little bored with eating or maybe I am getting bored with what I have been feeding her. Anyway, it's time for a little change so she will stay interested in eating. On the way home, we found Dolly Parton's house. It's only about a mile from the entrance to our subdivision. She has a guest house in the front and her house is set back a little. Of course, there is a gate so you cannot get too close. At Christmas, she had a HUGE outdoor tree but we did not know that was her house. Maybe I will see her at our local Publix.

We have been looking for new curtains for our den. They are all too short or too long! Too bad that I have never learned to sew. Maybe some lessons would make a great Mother's Day present. Think of all the cool things that I could create for Evie and for my house.

It finally stopped snowing about 3 CST. Evie has enjoyed seeing all the kids play outside. I made some lasagna for dinner. It's been so long since I made it and it was yummy! We have had so much fun with Evie today. She is at such a wonderful age but every stage has been great! We set up her sand and water table in the kitchen this morning. She had a blast. It usually takes a couple times for her to show interest in something new but this was right up her alley. Of course, it makes a huge mess and requires a change of clothes but that's what makes it so fun!
