Muddy Girl!

Evie is having so much fun playing outside. We spent most of the day outdoors and had such a great time. Atilla was here painting our cabinets. They look really great and he was so reasonable. Labor is cheap right now so it's a good time to get things done around the house.
Evie and I met our backyard neighbors this morning. Boy, did they fill me in on everything in the neighborhood for the past few decades. They have the sweetest little dog, Bentley. Of course, Evie went crazy to meet Bentley. He licked her and sniffed her to death. Evie was laughing hysterically and thought it was so much fun. We came inside for lunch and then headed to the park to play. Evie ran around and got so dirty. She did not want to get back in the stroller so I started running with the stroller to see what she'd do! That stopped her in her tracks and the stroller did not seem so bad after all. She was so dirty from playing so hard.

She went right to sleep but it was a short nap. Maybe she's still trying to figure it all out but she seemed pretty rested when she woke up. We ran a few errands. Why do cashiers at all stores feel the need to touch other peoples kids? Evie does not like that at all even when they are trying to give her stickers and balloons.

We came home for more outdoor fun since it was 74 degrees. What a glorious day! I'd love it to be like this all year-round. It was one of the those days where I felt especially thankful to be home with Evie. Carl came home and Evie shrieked with excitement. We took a family walk and then hung Evie's new curtain. My mom was sweet enough to make Evie a new one since the original was not wide enough for windows in this housse. It looks fabulous! Thanks Mom!
Carl put Evie to bed and I did a few things around the house. Evie has been weaned for one week! It was a hundred times easier than I had expected. We were both ready and I feel good that I gave Evie a head-start in life. It was a special time and saved so much money. Every mom has to do what is best for her baby, some people choose formula and that works too. The best thing about nursing is that it's free and the only bad mom is the one that does not feed their baby. I do feel like I have a lot more freedom now that Carl can put Evie to bed. She never really took bottles so all of her feeding rested on me but it's such a short season of life. It's amazing how quickly the challenges change. Things that matter today will hardly seem relevant next month.

  3. I'm loving this weather! We've already been to the park and on a walk today. If I had had my book, I would have laid Molly down on a blanket to see if she'd nap at the park while I read. Doesn't that just sound like a fabulous idea? We'll have to try that one day.

And I'm with you on the cashiers touching everybody's babies...
